Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disorder that appears on the skin. It
appears when the immune system sends out faulty signals that speed up the
growth cycle of skin cells. There are several types of psoriasis. The most
prevalent form, plaque psoriasis, is seen as red and white hues of scaly,
silvery patches that appear on the epidermis – the top layer of the skin.
Plaque psoriasis can afflict many areas of the skin
including the face, knees, elbows, hands and feet. This disorder is a chronic
recurring condition that varies in severity from minor localized patches to
complete body coverage.
The cause of psoriasis is not fully understood but it is believed to have a genetic
component. Various environmental factors as well as withdrawal from certain
medications appear to be connected to this disorder. Psoriasis can affect men,
women and children of any age, and this disorder has been shown to affect
health-related quality of life to an extent similar to the effects of other
chronic diseases such as depression, hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
the present time, there is no cure for psoriasis, and scientists are puzzled by the
way that this disease can be
recurrent (go away then come back again). On the plus side, there is enough
evidence to show that exposure to UV light and the use of good topical
moisturizers can help relieve many of the symptoms of psoriasis. Foods rich in
Omega-3 Fatty Acids (fish oil, flaxseed oil, borage oil, etc.) also appear to
offer perceivable benefits for many individuals.
Several prescription medications are available
to treat the symptoms of psoriasis but these are usually administered by a
doctor or dermatologist. And, like many prescription drugs, their side-effects
can be troublesome. OTC (Over-The-Counter) topical treatments are usually based
on Coal Tar or Salicylic Acid. These may offer some help but their obnoxious
odor and potential for irritation makes their use quite limited.
NEW RELIEF FOR THE MISERY OF PSORIASIS!
A new, natural
product is now available, and
its clinical studies are convincing enough to allow Health Canada to issue a
NPN (Natural Product Number) for this product. This is the first time that
Health Canada has issued a NPN for any internal preparation having the claim; “Helps
symptoms of psoriasis”. The name of this product is Dermylex™. This product is based on a patented,
natural, Undenatured Whey Protein Fraction – packaged 60 tablets per
bottle. Clinical studies showed that individuals with mild to moderate
psoriasis showed a marked improvement in the severity of their psoriasis symptoms
- after taking 2 tablets each day for 30 days. For many, the results were
even better after 60 days. Dermylex™ tablets may not cure plaque psoriasis.
However, a commitment to try this easy to use, natural product for 3 months
will be highly rewarding.
MORE GOOD NEWS!
The scientists at Botanico, the producer of Dermylex™
tablets, became aware of the fact that even better results can be obtained when
these tablets are used in conjunction with Nisim® Clinical Strength Body
Wash and Nisim® Clinical Strength Body Lotion.
two high performance skin care preparations were developed by the skin care
scientists at Nisim International Inc. Based on the company’s exclusive Amino
Acid/Vitamin Complex, both products promise measurable benefits to women and
men who have “problem skin”, particularly psoriasis.
most other topical psoriasis relief preparations, neither Nisim® Clinical
Strength Body Wash nor Nisim® Clinical Strength Body Lotion contains
Salicylic Acid (potential skin irritant) or Coal Tar (persistent, obnoxious
odour). Instead these formulas are based on mild cleansing and moisturizing
compounds – working in harmony with Nisim’s exclusive Amino Acid/Vitamin
Complex. High levels of Niacinamide (Pro-Vitamin B3) and Aloe Vera Gel
supplement the performance of these gentle, easy-to-use products.
